Privacy Policy

The short version: SightWord Practice collects nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no ads. Nothing about you or your child is gathered, stored on our servers, sold, or shared with anyone — and we have no intention of changing that.

Who we are

Timelessblur is the name under which Tyler Hays, an independent developer in Austin, Texas, publishes apps and this website. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Timelessblur.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the SightWord Practice app and this website, timelessblur.com. If we publish other apps, each will have its own section on this page describing exactly what that app does.

SightWord Practice

SightWord Practice is made for parents to use with their kids as they learn to recognize sight words. It doesn't collect personal information. Specifically, the app:

Your word lists, settings, and practice progress are stored on your device and sync through your own private iCloud account, so the same lists appear on your iPhone and iPad. That data lives in your personal iCloud under Apple's privacy policy — we have no access to it and can't see it. Sign out of iCloud and the app keeps working with the lists already on your device.

Word lists and settings

SightWord Practice downloads its word lists from timelessblur.com, along with a small settings file that tunes timings in the app, such as how long the screen stays on during practice. These are ordinary requests for public files, the same as loading a web page. They don't include any information about you or your child, and we don't use them to identify or profile anyone.

timelessblur.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. We don't use that data to identify people.

Analytics

There are none, and we don't intend to add any. The app contains no analytics code and no third-party SDK that could collect behaviour, and we have no dashboard, funnel, or report showing what anyone does in it. We don't know how many words your child got right, which lists exist, or whether the app was opened today.

We would rather know less. If that ever changes it will be written here, in plain words, before the version that does it is released — see Changes to this policy.

Crash reports

SightWord Practice contains no crash reporting service. We have not installed Crashlytics, Sentry, or anything like them. If that ever changes, this page will say so — and say what the service collects — before the version that includes it is released. See changes to this policy.

The one exception is Apple's own, and it isn't ours: if you have turned on Share With App Developers in Settings under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, Apple may pass us an anonymous report when an app crashes. It is collected by Apple, under Apple's privacy policy, it is off unless you turned it on, and it contains the technical state of the crash — never names, contact details, or anything your child did in the app. You can turn it off in the same place.

If you are testing a beta through TestFlight, Apple's TestFlight terms apply as well. Under them, Apple sends us crash reports from beta builds, any screenshots and comments you choose to send as feedback, and basic information such as your device model and how often the beta has been opened. That comes from TestFlight, not from anything in the app, and only from beta builds — the version on the App Store sends none of it. Removing the beta from TestFlight stops it.

Children's privacy

SightWord Practice is used by young children with a parent. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Contacting us by email

If you email us, we'll receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply, and we don't add you to a mailing list.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. If SightWord Practice starts collecting any new kind of data, this page will say so before that version is released.
